Privacy policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
AI Offline Translator is created by nvapp.ai. This policy describes the current beta website and app, including what is processed locally and what is sent when you visit the website or contact us.
Purchases and activation
The current payment and activation integration is being tested in a Stripe sandbox; public purchasing remains closed. When used, Stripe processes payment details, checkout email and applicable billing/tax information under its own privacy policy. Our AWS licensing service stores the checkout/payment reference, delivery email, license status, hashed activation code and a hash of a random device identifier generated by the app. It does not receive translation content or payment card details. Email codes are delivered through Amazon SES. The app keeps its trial dates, device identifier and signed license in macOS Keychain. First activation requires internet access; the signed license is verified locally for offline use. Purchase and activation records are kept to provide the lifetime license and meet applicable legal requirements; contact us about access or deletion. Database recovery backups can retain earlier records for up to 35 days. Licensing is separate from anonymous website statistics.
Translation on your Mac
Apple Translation and the supported local Hy-MT2 runtime process translations on your Mac. Our website statistics do not collect original text, translated text, selected text, clipboard content, screenshots, or the names of apps you use. The app currently sends no usage analytics to us. Selection capture uses the macOS permissions and capture methods described in the app; access remains under your control in System Settings.
Aggregate website statistics
The website sends only an event name (page view, download click, or purchase-entry click) and the page language (English or Chinese) to our statistics endpoint. The server records counts in Amazon CloudWatch using service receipt times. We use these counts to understand interest and maintain the website. They are not unique-visitor counts, individual browsing histories, or proof of a purchase. These aggregate counters use no cookies or permanent visitor identifiers. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals prevent these statistics when detected.
Optional Google Analytics
If configured, Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose Allow analytics. It uses cookies and browser/device information to measure website visits and download or purchase-entry clicks. It is separate from our anonymous aggregate counters and is not anonymous in the same way. We send fixed page paths without query strings, page language, origin-only referral source and fixed event names; we do not send translation content, emails or activation codes. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled. You can reject analytics or withdraw consent through Cookie settings; browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals also prevent loading. Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser. GA cookies are configured to expire after 30 days; User and event data retention is set to two months without resetting on new activity; this does not set the retention period of aggregate Google reports.
Connection information and hosting
Internet connections necessarily involve metadata such as IP addresses and request headers. AWS hosts our website and processes connection information to deliver and operate its services. Our analytics handler does not record IP addresses, browser identifiers, referrers, full URLs, query strings, or raw request bodies. CloudFront and API Gateway visitor access logs are disabled. Our analytics resources are configured in the AWS us-west-2 region; CloudFront serves files through its global edge network.
Retention
Aggregate CloudWatch metric data is retained for up to 15 months, with older data kept at coarser time intervals under AWS retention rules. Collector system logs have a seven-day retention setting and do not include translation content or analytics request bodies. No visitor identifier is stored to retrieve a person’s browsing history.
Downloads, updates, and external services
Model and language-resource downloads, app updates, and any future license activation may require internet access. Hy-MT2 model downloads connect directly to the official Tencent repository on Hugging Face; that provider processes download connection information under its own policy. Apple handles its system language resources. Links to external websites and your email provider are governed by their respective policies. The current website has no checkout integration; disclosures will be updated before one is added.
Email contact
If you email us, we receive your sender address and the message or attachments you choose to send. We use that correspondence to answer your request and provide support, and retain it as needed for that purpose. Email is separate from anonymous website statistics. Please share only information needed for your question; translation content is not required for a general support request.
Changes and privacy questions
We will update this page and its date when the described processing changes. You can contact us with privacy questions or requests concerning correspondence you have sent us.
